Re: Maya subdivisions
With a polygon mesh, smooth preview with "3", and pgUp/pgDown to set the subdivision level. This and more is in the attribute editor for the shape under "Smooth Mesh" There's also subdivision surfaces, one of their early attempts; it can do all the up/down and local subdivides. But it's not worth using most of the time.… -

for being new thats quite impressive :) ! , I think that when he falls he is overreacting ( when he bounces back his body) I suggest you tone down that movement and it will look more "realistic". Very nice arc on his <--- hand at the beginning keep up the good work :D ! -

Yeah a technical artist does exactly that, and so does the technical director, too. Technical Director is a term used mostly in the film industry, while Technical Artist is used more often in games, iirc. Actually, i don't recall seeing a technical artist working on a movie at all, it's always a TD instead. -

If you post this on SyncSketch we can give frame specific notes. I can see some weird arcs that I'd like to draw over. On the plus side, I like the stretch you have on the ball as he throws it :smiley: Also, if this is heavily based on reference it'd be helpful to see that as well. -

Been fiddling around with hands for days and nothing looks right..ugh, they are the bane of my existence, next to heads. If anyone can point me in the direction of a full proof hand tutorial I'd be greatly. (I did look at the Joan of arc, and will try that later but in case that fails a back up is always nice.) -

Trust me on this - school will not prepare you. Online will be MUCH better. Polycount will be much better. I don't think there is anything back in Ireland that will teach you, unless you find some modders and work it out. That's a better route. mx518 it is, just ordered from ebuyer for £25 inc delivery. I was getting sick of watching mouse reviews but could only find good news about this mouse. ps: I was going to go for this one (mx620) but everyone is sold out (it's supposed to be the wireless version of the mx518) maybe next time! iirc having alot of instructions on a terrain material can be quite bad and UDK will actually stop rendering it if the material gets to complex. It would probably be better to use more materials, but you won't have quite the same level of control and options. I'd wait for someone else to weigh in before trusting this… -

I'd try using a custom spline Ik setup. The only downward/issue I can think of with this solution is the possible lost of shape but I think this can be fixed by using either a shape template to help the animator track the position in space ( bone should move in a arc shape) or use path constraint... -
Re: unrealed packages
You can rename them to a different UPK. :) So IIRC, you can rename them into your map, so you don't have an extra UPK. (i.e.-select your items in the Generic Browser, right click on them, and select Rename). I don't have UnrealEd on this machine, but that's it, I think.
