I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this. What I should do is move all my objects centers to the origin in Softimage. 0,0,0 then when I move my object to 0,0,0 the center will offset. Then In udk I move the center to the origin and the mesh will be where it was in softimage? So the objects center in Softimage…
Hey all, Thanks for the feedback. Adjusted the shaders and colors, and the spec to help pop her a bit. Also shortened the width between her shoulders and widened the hips. Took a few tries but I've been looking at it way too long now. I think in readjusting the shoulder the first few times the location of the pivot/joint…
@stilobique Haha thank you, I'll definitely share what I learn along this journey (Y) stay posted! @Nomad - Nicolas Pirot Thank you :) it's procedural... I've actually broken it down into 3 different versions using material instances that I'm using to blend between atm (No Grass/PatchyGrass/FullGrass) for the terrain in…

Thank you for your feedback Compitron! Why bother decorating the enviroment around the lightbox though? I don't get the point... Can you also explain me your thoughts about the dome you mentioned? I'm sorry but I didn't get it.. As for the motion blur, you can lower the speed of the animation and adjust the pivot to the…
got it figured out strangely enough there must have been a minor corruption in the model its self. I ended up creating a box turning it in to an editable poly, and then attaching the head to the box to transform it into a new model. Then deleted the box element and reset my pivot point. Strange problem but atleast its…
Yeah, sometimes the buttons get buggy if you move the toolbox from it's default screen position. But it's easy to fix, you just need to close it, then open it again and it will work fine from then on for the rest of your Max session. And I love the little "reset xform" button as well as the pivot aligning buttons. Super…
A quick'n'dirty way to do it would be to grab all of your vertices that make up the forearm and hand, change to your rotate tool, place your pivot point to (roughly) the center of your shoulder/deltoid region, and give it a slight rotation. A few individual verts at the elbow-forearm region may need some tweaking from…
If your system supports it, you could combine blend shapes and bones together, for the best of both. I'm finding ittough to get the bone pivot positions right, and weighting is time-consuming. Anybody have any tips about these? I know good topology is essential. But with the weighting and boning is it just a matter of…
To add on to what Swizzle said, the biggest hurdle for evolving and refining games is that they don't have much in the way of established creative production models to draw on. Film and theater are the two parallels people frequently try to make, and we even mimic a lot of the production and studio concepts that evolved in…
