nice work! Hats off to someone for releasing what can only be described as a niche product. It looks great for showing models to people and making some quick edits on the fly. As for brain farting, the more conceptual stuff, I'd say it needs to be a whole other level of intuitive. My favourite video of this kind of…
Here's a card that looks somewhat comparable to the 9800, and maybe a little faster. Looks like it's about $80 after rebate. Only thing that I can see that's any different is the memory interface is 128bit instead of 256. Think that will make a huge difference? I'm pretty sure my mobo is pcie 1. Not sure how that will come…
I've been using the app Feedly for my mobile polycount fixes. Nice previews - but more often than not just takes me to the site via browser if I actually want to read reply's etc. I wish polycount had a dedicated app that took after Feedly's interface and ui flow. I ain't picky tho as long as I get my fix :P
Assuming you have a really good reason not to just incorporate your gradient masking in the other shader itself, UDK should have the options shown above in the Material Instance interface. Enable the checkboxes above, and once you close the material instance, it should bake out a texture (shares the same name as the mat…

its the shortcut override toggle button and its within the main menu of 3dsmax. If you enable it it forces shortcuts that are modifier specific or tool specific over the default interface shortcuts. This is sometimes required so that shortcuts for example in the UV editor work or in the Edit Poly modifier. Its really…
Maya. Mainly because I use Maya at work to place objects and crap like that. I don't like switching between user interfaces and such. I'm also too lazy to customize my hotkeys and such. I love Maya's snapping abilities, how easy it is to switch between orthos, and the custom shelf. In fact, there's more I like about Maya…

I hope you at least ate the bird, the cat went through alot of trouble bringing you a fresh kill. About the drive > I was surprised to find out laptop drives use the SATA interface nowadays. My WD passport stopped working so I opened the case up, hooked up the drive inside my machine, and copied my important docs over.
Another tweak for oblivion seems to be reducing the number of render ahead frames down to 0. Nvidia users can set this option with the extended settings after using teh coolbits registry mod. It boosted me yet another 10-15fps, and now i can focus on the game. Now that it's playable, I'm enjoying it very much. At least…
