Hi Jordank95. Wall dimensions question: The best way to determine the needs you are talking about is to lay these pieces out in your 3D engine. Make a 3x3m pieces and compare them to the 4x4 pieces and see what works better for your project. 4x4 might be easier if you don't want to do fractions. Also you might need less…
Please try updating your GPU drivers. If that doesn't help, upgrading your hardware may be the only option. The MX250 in particular is an underpowered GPU that was not intended for 3D content creation. It should support basic features in Toolbag but I would expect poor performance and instability with that GPU when working…
Well. I prefer that people listen to music legally as well. I didnt say I was listening to illegal music, I just stated that there are alternatives. I do buy music as it happens. I still prefer to buy CD's but on a day to day basis at work and when I'm looking for new bands I use grooveshark, lastFM, youtube, etc. I also…
Hey Polycount Peeps I´m pretty new here so I´ll start by introducing myself with my latest work, I´m a Digital FIlm Design Student ~ 4th Semester from Germany. I started working on this project a couple of weeks ago, our task was to model, texture and light a streetscene in day and night with vray. Since i always wanted to…
Sorry, I should have said try Thin Surface with a Scatter value of 0. Also, I realized that in raster mode in the 4.02 build Thin Surface will be somewhat opaque with a value of 0. This is fixed in our internal build and will be included in the 4.03 release. For the time being Thin Surface will be fully transparent when…
Oh and also now that school is over for the semester... (WOO SUMMER!) I can concentrate more on personal projects! Here is my starfish guy textured. Sculpted displacement in Zbrush, and painted textures with a combination of zbrush and photoshop. This is for my MFA project, an animated short. This is rendered in Mental…
Unless their wording is different than what you've posted, the instructions are to use maya or mental ray for shader setup and render. You can use standard Maya materials in MR, the easiest route would be to use a blinn or phong with your maps plugged in but you may want to look into using a mila shader. It depends on what…
They should fix the problems Autodesk's meddling has brought on. I'd go back to version 3 or 4 if I could get it with Mental Ray rendering/baking, and 64 bit support. Those are the only thing useful Autodesk has added. It sure as hell used to be a lot stabler. Now it crashes a few times a day (at least for me) I'd be happy…
I get similar issues as well when working in big scenes, or I've had Maya open for awhile. It happens most often when I use my bind-toggle x-ray (alt+X) and then try to snap-toggle. It doesn't always seem to get stuck, but you can visibly see the input lag when toggling back and forth. I always just assumed it's from too…
after going with a 720p native (supports 1080p though) projector being used at 90 inch's currently, i don't think i could ever go back to a tv smaller than 60 inch's. but yeah, i don't think the wii will look good considering its standard def, 480 upscaled to 1080i/p is going to be ugly, it may look semi-ok if the wii does…
