Hey guys, I'm making improvements on a character. Would love your feedback. Currently the character can switch between different clothing items. All materials have variable base colours, blood masks, sweat, etc. In Zbrush my LP is connected to my subdivision stacks. The intention is to create more characters from this base…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9rZ_jSl6Ok In the link above the sculptor does a great job of creating this sci fi box, but aren't the edges too hard for a solid normal bake? I get the gist of what he is doing and I could probably replicate it to some point, but it's all 90* angles for lots of the things and detail would…
Indeed, I applied to about 75 places overall, only heard anything (even automated repsonses) from maybe 20ish. Some might email and ask something(so you think "Oh, they're showing some interest!") you reply and may well never hear from them again. Some might email you saying your portfolio has been forwarded to a team to…
[ QUOTE ] It's very hard to get on with someone who picks an argument with EVERYONE. Seriously, in every thread I've seen you post in, you pounce on every single reply and tear it to pieces, even if they're agreeing with you. [/ QUOTE ] To clarify, this is exactly what my post was referring to. I don't object at all to oXY…
Good question and I think you very deftly pointed out my thoughtlessness. It was supposed to be a replacement sword for the archer but that means it isn't a primary weapon, thus disqualifying it from the competition. Shape wise Is it impossible to make this into a large 2 handed scimitar? Perhaps is can be a replacement for…
Yes and no. To clarify, it would swap out the model asset with new geometry imported from 3dsmax. It would just be a fast way to visually assess what variants are used for each cube type, and rapidly replace assets as the pipeline updates. That way we could grey-box, then go back and replace the grey box with finished…
got the editor recently, 2 noob questions: 1) how do I replace my material when I export from max to crysis? I want it to overwrite the old one, but it says it already exists and doesn't let me replace it 2) how do I toggle the statistics on the upper right hand corner of my editor screen?
That's shady indeed, but even if the guys did write every thing they know I doubt it owuld be of much use to anyone else, you can't replace experience with documents. Our TA guy left to work on Canada and I don't think any amount of documentation could replace his ability to resolve problems.
I used to use litestep and other explorer replacements, but nowadays I'm just using Windows 7 explorer, rainmeter, altdrag, and an app that let me replace default txt file software to notepad++. Last time I really used litestep was windows 2000. I've probably used blackbox more though.
Also here's another tip for hard-surface meshes which is another good technique to learn, called face-weighted normals. This can entirely replace normal mapping in some cases, and it can be used in conjunction with normal mapping if that's needed. I just wrote this up for a client, might help you... We have more about this…
