I would contest this point, 95% of our environment artists barely touch Photoshop. It seems a bit weird compared to old methodologies, but I can see art production plausibly moving further in this direction in coming years (at least for top-end graphics work).
Nice ride. I looked into getting the same car earlier this year. Unfortunately, the style you chose is the higher end version and I couldn't afford it So I went with an '06 Jetta, which I've been happy with (I had a '95 Jette prior)
Here are some test bakes on the low poly model. the alien retopology is around 95% done including the armor, just doing some test bakes now :) (new to marmoset so if anyone has tips on getting awesome bakes just let me know!)
Well, I end up using cylindrical, and auto mapping about 95% of the time. MoP's method is really great. I just don't trust that crazy relax UVs tool. Just get used to lining up the interactive manipulator to move the projection into place.
I'm not too hip on massive customization after seeing the end results. Look at Secondlife or LBP, %95 of the user creative content is ugly as sin therefore making your product look bad. I even think Aion was a little too loose with it's character customization:
???????? wow one thing. That makes it only 95% character focused heheh :P And that was an event, I am talking less grandiose then that one was. That sucker drug out for what seemed forever. Give me 4 challenges in the place of one giant one any day.

This is a late WIP post, as the skin is almost done and ready to upload. Finish is gunsmith. I know the trailer says its a tech demo. But BUUUT. Will we, sometime, Have a proper game out of this? I mean this looks a lot better then 95% of the games out there. It has orginality. And Just like a lot of others, is one of the biggest reasons I got into the industry.
