Thank you very much, ZACD! This is exactly what I needed. I ended up having to split most of the model up into separate shading groups, but it ended up looking okay so I can live with that. Unfortunately I've upped my poly count from 124 to 272, but that's still so low that I'm sure it's fine.
For the sun reflection you need something in between the examples you showed. It should fade away. Lots of good examples here https://www.google.gr/search?q=sun+reflection+water&safe=off&client=ms-android-huawei&prmd=ivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwio_72gocrWAhUEVxQKHTIlAqcQ_AUIESgB&biw=360&bih=524
These two are to be animated. The doggy has 192 polys and 324 tris. The raptor has 2,842 polys and 5,376 tris. Is the mesh alright? And is there a neater and more low-poly way to make the raptor? If you guys have any images that could help me that would be great. Thanks for reading!
Hi! We got this assigment to do a lowpoly at my school. I decided to do a creature/pet. We are allowed to have 500 polygons, mine is currently on 424. Here is my concept: and my model looks like this: My Uv's looks like this: Feel free to give me feedback! :)
From the various sources axe 1 got the most interest so here is the sculpt :3 The low poly is also made with the LOD0 being 294 tri's and the LOD1 being 196 tri's, I'll be posting them once some of the texture work is done. Thoughts?
i finally finished a model of one of your concepts :) i hope you don't think the changes to your concept are to harsh. cheers. https://cdna.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/005/745/964/large/florian-neumann-r3d-2.jpg?1493465319
I think one of the best things i heard so far is that the ratings were about 9.4 million in the UK watching this vs the 7 million watching the x factor. gave me a glimmer of hope for the human race. Would love to know the american numbers...
Hi, maybe this is another kind of a dumb question, but are you cooling your system properly? An i7 920 should dissipate a lot of heat. Do you have any temperature monitoring software? Have you noticed differences when the computer case is open or close?
hi @Kyetja looking cool, if you don't mind the performance you can use PixelNormal WS to have detailed clamp instead of vertex normal WS, but if there is no choice perhaps you can use clamp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2BEEtpPgdk&t=294s
I had one week to submit it and finished it after ~30 hours of work (including some time spent refreshing myself on 3D Studio Max. As it has now been submitted, I'd like to post the final results here to see what you guys think I can do better for next time. The final scene came in at 984 triangles:
