figured i'd put up a topic for stuff i upload from the road... i'm sure i'll have more stuff when i meet up with other polycounters like Snowfly (late this month!) and Hawken (December!) here are some from the last few days in Sydney. it feels surprisingly good just to be sketching on copy paper with a no. 2 pencil. after…
I love how well it works on phones, now I really want to get a tablet to show off my work in person. What I really want to see is game studios use interactive models like this for their website and account management. How cool would it be to see 3d models of your Diablo 3 or Warcraft characters with all their gear, in an…
Sometimes I hate technology. Photoshop decides to lag horribly when painting when I have my tablet driver installed. 3DS max decides to unbind every single keybind (I think because I deleted a folder with a maxkeybd file in, why doesn't it make it's own copy when I import it?) and is now seemingly refusing to uninstall. I…
Really nice sculpt! I like how you've got his chest and shoulders looking very chitin-like. My only feedback would be that, when I viewed the image on my tablet especially, it was difficult to locate where the eyes where. Perhaps you could experiment with making the skin around the eyeballs a lot softer and fleshier, as at…
Unfortunately interactive effect and simultaneous updates can't be achieved even with photoshop scripting. Maybe it is possible to achieve such functionality with a program called autohotkey. I'm not sure but if it can recognize the press/release (up/down)events of the wacom pen, someone can write a script that will do…
Most conventions have a portfolio review area, where company's will look over your stuff and possible give you an interview or more info on the spot. On that note look into reserving a time slot as most of the reviews are based on a schedule. Besides that have your bushiness cards, if you have a iphone, or tablet of any…
I use pen pressure to control size just not opacity, having both on doesn't make sense to me because then your thin lines will always be light and you'll have to keep changing your brush size and press hard on the tablet to get full value.I'd rather be able to use a large brush, press light, and have manual control over…
I agree carbonmade is good for a pinch but when you want to carve out your own space and a unique look it starts to fall apart. I agree with Del, Muse is great, very user friendly and pretty flexible as far as portfolios are concerned. It also has some nice features so you can see what it will look like on different…
It´s a plus point when you recieve a mail with a portfolio link and don´t need to open it on your pc or tablet and can directly view the portfolio on a mobile optimized website. You could do this simply with the @media screen function inside of your css file. For the mobile version you don´t need so much space left and…
I made the switch from razer to the Logitech G600. I can easily say its one of the best mice I have ever used, great for work and play. That said I still recommend using a wacom tablet for 3d work as well as 2d work, much better for the wrist and posture. You start preferring it over a mouse once the strangeness wears…
