thanks Man :D Initially the inspiration was diesel punk and Tor Fricks mech work, but the project has definitely shifted! I have changed my reference to be more like the fallout power armor and that 50s robot design for the clunkyness yet retaining smooth panels.
Here is the latest work on Adam's robot arm. I retopologized all of the metal pieces, and touched up all of the internally-wired parts that seem organic. I think it looks a lot more like a hard-surface model now. What do you think?
Ditch the first 2 models, or move them to the end. I'd stop watching there if I was looking for an employee. Start with something impressive. You need to finish texturing the robot, gun and environment, then work on your presentation. Nobody hires a modeler who can't texture anymore.
@melli06 Glad you like it ^^ Here's my newly remade left robotic arm. The underlayer is mostly inspired by... not a direct copy from the concept art. I took some liberty with it. Gonna clean up, and detail some more. Then retop/hardsurface the outer layer.
just pretend you dumped her. List all the bad things about her and be glad it's over. things to live for? nano tech advanced computer graphics cyborgs cool robots cloning stemcell body parts, like replacement teeth meeting new babes
LOL NO! I actually bought that game! It's the worst thing to happen to giant robot fighting; I refuse to acknowledge it. A new OMF with 1v1 2d metal scraping action. If Street fighter and Mortal Kombat can do it new-old style then I wanna see this.
Hello Ikhaled0n, You already started with the poses thats good :) but right now it feels that you only have 2 keys in each part, wich results in a very robotic movement. Try to add arcs into the motions and get reference if you don't have one :)
Martin (dfacto) is a legit medical doctor and he draws robots and shit in his free time, like a boss. One time I almost convinced him to drop out of med school and move to Iowa to work on Darkest of Days, but he's not as stupid as he looks.
His arms arent doing anything.......at all, you should focus on getting those arms to move around quite a bit more, everything else looks pretty decent but the arms just throw the whole thing off and make it look robotic, Keep going :)
From Steampunk giant scorpion robots powered by fiery orbs of death to demon goddesses, oh and an elf. Bosses created for my client's RPG, Riders of Arylide! Also, a little something that may be more applicable to this community than some of my usual illustrative work
