It looks like you have an actual mesh, from a blockout, or low poly, that is being rendered, but not visible in the viewport. Try unhiding all layers and objects. EDIT: By the way, post this in technical talk next time, that's what it's for!
Some blockouts, I've started to refine some of the meshes - feedback welcome! I was considering adding some pipes to the outside with some kind of vehicle inside and have added a vent and some wires to help show the scale.
More progress today, I would love some feedback on it! feels like I'm starting to get a little blind over here :) Going to do the final emissive map next, get rid of that ugly blockout.
Try out google sketchup, it is faster than pretty much anything to make quick blockouts and uses a CAD style approach and you can even export it into your engine , but using real CAD makes no sense
Aside from what has been said, more contrast between the metal shades on the frame to the metal on the slide and thingies would make this look a lot snappier. Colour blockouts are a bitch to nail in solids, but it pays off!
Hey All! I am currently working a modular environment project. As of now, I am transitioning from my blockout to more finished pieces in my kit. I am also working on getting my lighting in a place where its not as distracting as it is right now. My goal with this project is to get a look similar to that from the God of War…
I've finished this demon statue the other day. After doing retopo and blockouts for a while on stream I felt the need to sculpt for a bit and ended up doing this statue. It was supposed to be a harpy initially but kinda turned more into a demon at the end.. More images and videos on Artstation:…
Retopo is only needed if you dont have a decent base or blockout. A lot of Artists work this way on private assets but in production its not always the case. Its a mix and depends on the asset and pipeline.
Working on the final part of the environment, exterior. Trying to blockout the main shapes and catch the lighting mood. This part based on the amazing concept, "Launch Bay" by James Chao. (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Ozye8)
Took some time to do a paintover on top of my blockout. Way too much noodling in 3d going on. I'll probably do the same thing to the car when i get back to that.
