@sacboi, I appreciate it, but I wouldn't be able to get as far as I did without knowing these :) I'm mainly working on a simplified version of this mesh and use DataTransfer from it (haven't done any fixes on the final weight-painting yet). The problem is not in tools themselves (as far as I can tell), but more... basic -…
People keep mentioning Discord, but I’ve been using Reddit more. Information is easily searchable and there’s separate subreddits for things like ZBrush, Substance, Unreal, etc. The problem is, Reddit seems to attract a certain type of user. Something about the semi-informal moderation with community members policing…
Okay, so today I'm driving my girlfriends car which doesn't happen very often. So, as i'm driving along I am trying to figure out the CD player. I actually hold my finger over a button waiting for the little tool tips to show up as if I was hovering over it with a mouse on my PC. After realizing what I had just done, I…
I do not care if this is true or not, I'll always pretend that it is. http://www.boingboing.net/2008/09/26/wade-davis-an-inuit.html Davis: The Inuit didnt fear the cold; they took advantage of it. Hey man, I've seen Some of your progress through your Google+ postings. Its cool to see you branching out into 3d :D Some nice stuff you've got going on. You mentioned that you're focusing on getting good forms, and I usually make heavy use of masking and the transpose tools / move brush in that stage. Some people really…
eh... i didn't mind the zbrush interface much... but with mudbox i get a much clearer view of what my final asset will look like, which is something that i like... the facets in zbrush definitely made things look too sharp but the final model ended up looking more blurry because there would be 1 smoothing group applied to…
cool stuff. Remember you can always use bevel tool to smooth things out, try not to rely on smooth poly too much especially when doing hard surface. I dont know if this bit here is intentional or not, but you can soften the edge normal to make it look not so edgy. I don't know where the second image came from, but it…
Thanks for the feedback :) Keres: I started by projecting a manipulated image of some course rocks. I think took out the clay tool and 'pulled' some of the large features out, I then when over with the hPolish tool to sharpen some edges up. It was enough to bake some quick normals for something that isnt going to be seen…
@LeDjinn yeah thx could be that i wanted to pack too much into it. In the end it was quite hard to find a suitable composition of all the materials. I think it was 11 different Materials i used (hell of a masking :D ). I just could not stop puttin naother one in ^^. You have some pretty cool forms and patterns in yours i…
