1 directional light for sun & shadows add hdri env texture run through 'diffuse convolve' filter & map hdri to ambient color add ambient occlusion (technically you only want to multiply AO by the ambient hdri) done p.s. super secret - the pros do a bent normals pre-pass to make the ambient hdri lookup even better
Thanks, on the first part of the video, its purely a first person camera representing the monster that escapes as it breaks the walls and other areas of the env. It has a higher view angle and FOV. In the second part, I needed something to to say that you're now looking through the eyes of another character, adding a…
Well this one's in Zbrush not marmo, I suppose I could take the scene env image and stick that in there, create a capture a lightcap from that image maybe hmm. Guh I really wanna make a nice Zbrush skin render that I can use for future, So I've kept at it. And tried changing the lighting slightly, sort the eye junk…
Hmm, probably but that seems like that'd be a bit beyond my grasp. It's also weird/annoying cause the lights DO reflect at the appropriate brightness when close to the floor. However, the Reflections Example page on the unreal documentation site says the following: So I guess in a clean/bright env like this, I'm pretty…
Too much PP for my taste. Everything seems watered down and flat. Also, the eyes and the scales "shine" too much for me as well. I would also be careful of showing your env from the angle on the bottom picture since mirroring is really clear from that view. I much prefer the "crispness" of the bottom picture in your fourth…
To improve that shadow there's many different ways. Here's easiest I can think of. - Just above the Env Colour you mentioned there's 'Num indirect lighting bounces', put it up to 4/5 and see how it goes. - Put in a skylight. Content Browser > Actors > Skylight (in search bar). It's basically ambient lighting. Great…

And lastly, an artwork for Valborg's upcoming album, Barbarian.…
nitpicking is good it means you have something worthwhile imo. I actually love the mouth, the nose feels a bit off to me :/ there is a certain way I have seen people make female noses in game art, and maybe I have just seen too much of it done that way. Either way I'm a env artist so that's just my 2 cents.
Glad to hear that you have rediscovered your passion! Only a small amount of people that finish game education get an job instantly after school. For most people it takes an year of portfolio building before they get their first job. If you want to become a successful env artist you should look at artstation to see how…
