Right, I think ive got to the point where im finished so any opinions would be great. Thanks guys and for me, its been a good learning process. Final tri count - 5450. Programs used: 3D Max 9, Photoshop CS3, Mudbox, NVfilter.
Cool thanks Slum, apparantly its not free but were looking into it. Thanks CrazyButcher but it only does one texture it seems and i could not get it to do both textures in Max 7 or 9. And the render just shows up grey. Lot closer this time but so far no luck.
If the studio knows what they're doing and have planned things correctly, there really shouldn't be any crunch time. Our crunch time has been -extremely- minimal over the past 9 months. Maybe towards the end of a sprint I'd have to put in an extra hour here/there, if that.
xaltar: that would be totally insane. me too +1 Neox: Thanks man! Adinas concept is NEARLY to the top of my stack - slowly worked its way there from when she did it, hmmmm maybe 9 months ago!!!!!!! But dont worry I'll get there!! Thanks guys!
I spent like 9 months working on a really complex character. I got some feedback from a professional artist and he was pretty impressed with the work but said people wouldn't like it because the face wasn't pretty. Lol. And it seems like he was right.
Wouldn't measured IOR values be an average of the reflectivity of all wave lengths of visible light? Shouldn't the specular color (included in the base color texture for metalness) be all you need? Or would you need to turn down the metalness from 1 to .9 or something to simulate that?
Looks really cool :) I'd suggest cutting down on the amount of renders. I know its a really sick environment, but I'd rather have my eye study 1 or 2 well chosen images than 9 images. Once again, cool work!
Looks like Scott Spencer has some videos up of a new model he painted: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7ddpVVPXag"]Paint a demonic creature bust in ZBrush (1 of 9) - YouTube[/ame] He works with similar techniques, only in zBrush.
Haha nice one Jackablade. Wow this brings back memories. I played this a lot back in the day, bout 7-9 years ago. I still have my cards in really great condition - Maybe I should pick it up again : p
Very good on you to keep up the 9-5. Schedule is really helpful. You're really motoring through this little guy! Comin along very nicely! I like that your taking your own creative liberty on the final rendering. Looking forward to the result!
