I'm with Ashervisalis on this. Your anatomy is low quality at the moment. The above suggestion to develop that aspect of your skillset is sound I think. Also more accurate and expressive material representation. You might try using Daz3D as a reference while practicing sculpting figures. Daz3D is free to use.
https://www.daz3d.com/get_studio Put Daz3D on a separate screen and use the models as reference while you work. The great thing is you can view the reference model from all angles and this gives you an excellent foundation for sculpting figures. Above you can see the range of musculature achieved by in app morphs. You can…
I'll throw out another suggestion. Daz3d and the Carrara 8 suites arent bad. Carraras good for renders, I wouldnt use it for modelling though. Daz3d seems to be useful simple fast for animation. They do have a certain amateur reputation, which is not entiretly undeserved as most results from them look as if they were done…
The first model looks the best IMO, it has a more natural and lifelike look to it. The others, particularly 'Orla' and 'Gertrude' have what i described earlier as that 'Daz3D' look. It's hard to describe exactly, but there's something about those models that all have the same look and feel to them that gives them this kind…
Haha yeah, working on my iPad felt pretty limited compared to the full ZBrush version. I haven’t used Daz3D before but I’ll give it a try. Up to now I’ve only been using image references while sculpting, so having a 3D model to rotate around should help a lot Thanks for the tip!
Nice work so far. The figure proportions are off. The best alien and monster work is based on real proportions with only the details changed. If you use a figure reference guide like daz3D while you sculpt it will make your work more convincing. There are plenty of reference images for alien space ships on google: Hmm cant…
Model hair for game character Sculpt hair for game character Just click on the google searches above for loads of information. Its not clear what sex your model is. Maybe both? The head and hands look a little strange. You can use Daz3D while modelling to help you with the physical appearance of your model.
A handy tip would be to use a program like Daz3D for figure reference while sculpting in zB. Daz3D is a free program and very handy to have on an extra screen while you are sculpting as you can view the base figure from any angle. Like has been said its usually a good idea to include a turn around series of shots of your…
Hi Everyone! I'm a little late to the contest, but my name is EJ Johnson Jr aka Cartoon Components and I'm very new to creating 3d characters... After many years of drawing vector characters I was going to start telling animated stories after I purchased RL's Crazy Talk Animator.... Then I Discovered Character Creator and…
On 3/11/2009 a new usergroup in Dallas will be holding a meeting at the SMU Guildhall (http://guildhall.smu.edu), the speakers will be 2 professionals from Janimation (http://www.janimation.com) discussing modeling on XSI importing to ZBrush for sculpting and back again. It doesn't matter if you are an amatuer or a long…
