Ox - I used this with 3dsMax. I use a cusomized quad menu and toolbar for everthing I do. I very rarely need to use the keyboard when working in 3dsMax. So, I suppose it's dependant on your app, and your workflow. Makowka, I'm not sure if the buttons are scriptable, but they are certainly programmable. I'm sure that you…
We are looking for a real-time 3D production studio to assist with the production and assembly of a Unity interactive. I think it is still a problem with only certain pieces of software not exporting the tangents and binormals correctly. I don't bake in 3dsmax any more, I use substance and I haven't run into in a while, but then again I don't mirror UV's as much as I used to. Personally I wouldn't use 3dsmax to bake anything, RTT is broken…
Thanks for the links, guys. Just checked now. Been busy with Archviz stuff. On it right away. Learning Python. I have decided to learn python 3. I am a bit worried. I understand that python 3 differs from python 2. versions and some applications might not support python 3 since its a newer version. I am using 3dsmax 2014.…
Up in the right corner of the viewport click the [+] and choose configure, then click on the Statistics Tab, from there you can toggle on/off various settings. Going forward, if you save a default scene named "maxstart.max" to your scenes folder (in the 3dsmax root folder) with it configured this way, 3dsmax will use those…
look or search every now and there here: http://www.scriptspot.com/ its the best place to look for scripts for 3dsmax to boost, simplify your workflow or simply to do things that are not available in max to begin with. The official help within max comes with a good bunch of tutorials for the bloody beginners. In other…
I have just checked it in the build I downloaded a week ago. It does do face weighted normals with its new super cool "weighted normals" modifier. I wish I'd have such one in 3dMax. But weird thing is even if I apply this modifier to geometry, even if I export to fbx and bring it back, still Cycles bakes the normal map as…
Well here are some up dates- I have taken my character and decimated him down from 3.9 million polys to 31,000 polys in Zbrush. I Then exported him into 3d max and started using the freefrom tools to fix some of the bad topology in the boots i made for him. I am now uv mapping him in max and will be working on the textures…
Yeah if you are just starting out it can seem impossible. It's like asking how long a piece of string is. There are lots of ways to model what you need and it depends on what you intend to use the model for. A combination of ZBrush and Marvelous Designer is popular at the moment. Here is a screen cap I made years ago…
I think these pieces are good enough to stay. Note I only took half the furniture. The top 2 sets are very very simple. The only really likeable items are the beds and couches. Sorry to be so harsh. All your renders seem to be 3dMax scanline renders, with a very bland light setup, if any light setup at all. The latest 2…
