To get better cant be only fun. Its hard work. You have to find the balance to get better. Do a day learning how to model and two days fun modeling. I can say i did to much fun sculpting the last 10 years. My skill stuck on the same level.
Do you have any thought on the gameplay? I'd say before you proceed with graphics, maybe think of a gameplay and make that fun before you try and put the coating on. If it isn't fun with really simple graphics, it probably wont be any more fun with pretty graphics. That said, the style seems really great.
As far as I am aware, I never said I wasn't going to put in the effort to improve my basic modeling skills -- this thread was created for that exact reason. The fact that these were analyzed "for fun" doesn't necessarily imply that the *result* of said analysis is not *also* being taken seriously in addition to the "fun"…
Zwebbie : Uncharted is a very strange case. Having played only Uncharted 2 I have to say that I have no interest in the franchise at all, as I didn't see the point of the hero shooting his way through the adventure. I did hear that Uncharted 1 is much more platform oriented tho. As for Metal Gear, I am not quite sure to…

This makes me think of one thing and why games arent as popular as they perhaps should be. Most games are this immersive, extended experience. There like designed for total escapism and immersion. Most people dont want that, they want to sit down with a movie for an hour and half and watch it for fun. They want to play a…
Hello Folks! So I have never posted an actual WIP thread here before, so I might as well start now! :) What I am doing is fan art of a character from a pixel mobile game called ReDungeon by Nitrome. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to adapt a pixel character into a full 3D character. There aren't very many…
Looking good! Fun concept. As an idea for no wanting to see the bald scalp, honestly i'd just have a vertical gradient, where the top is mostly opaque and the bottom is more transparent on the entire hair. and also just have some dark texture on the scalp in case you see it at any glancing angles.
