Microneezia: OK i tested the export all, and obj doesn't work when importing it into 3dsmax. I discovered that if you export as an STL (make sure you type that extension when saving it.) it opens in 3dsmax. Not sure if Maya supports stl files though.
This is a topic that has been reoccuring lately and i thought putting the info in its own thread is a good idea. I will be showcasing a method i have been using for way over a decade now, in 3dsmax. Which is to my knowledge the only tool that allows me to do this. Please correct me if i am wrong, i'd love to have this…
So a friend of mine ran into a weird issue with 3dsMax when rendering Normal Maps. It was flipping the green channel for one of the UV pieces. Taking that piece into PhotoShop and inverting the green channel fixed the issue but I was wondering if anyone has run into that before and is there a way to force 3dsMax to render…
Just thought I'd add this here for posterity. It's using Polyhertz's 'Quick High-Poly' 3dsMax script. My thread with examples can be found here: http://polycount.com/discussion/174639/polyhertzs-3dsmax-script-quick-high-poly#latest
Yea but its not free and even if it was I'm not sure I would use it. Personally I like outliner for Max. It's a pretty close representation of Maya's outliner. http://www.creativecrash.com/3dsmax/downloads/scripts-plugins/interface-display/c/outliner-for-3dsmax
For 3dsmax it definately is the best shader you can get, it has every feature needed and looks awesome. It´s just like marmoset, your stuff just looks better with it. I don´t know a good alternative to replace your shader in regards to 3dsmax,
I believe you are looking for the 'cut' tool, or 'slice plane' both of witch can add verticies and connecting edges. Post a picture to indicate what you want to accomplish next time, it'll help people help you. location of the cut and slice plane tools; To manualy connect individual verticies, I've set up a hot key that…

Hello, Quixel Team. I have an idea for your great soft. So it is about material ID mask. Right now I can bake mask from geo in maya or 3dmax with great preset. But if i have just a sculp with polypaint data. Making right mask is a problem. I solve it like make double time work. 1. Make a geometry 2. Make retopology and…
