Hi Richard, I agree with you, sometimes my texturing and polygon distribution could be better but I think this level of detail would hold up in an third person shooter. It is what I made at work and it works. It's true I'm working the old way and i will try next time to do something more clean and modern.
Oh if only my life was only that interesting. What Googling DOESN'T bring up random "hot girls", seriously. Also, this computer is less than a week old so it's not like I've yet had that cold and stormy night to explore my less hetero side lately :P Am done now :D
That link is great DBC. Bookmarked. Also, Poop's tutorial section has some real texturing gold in it. http://www.poopinmymouth.com/tutorial/tutorial.htm I make regular use of the Harliquin channel clouds skin underlay (I found it from poop's old character tutorial still on that site) to get some good base variation.
One thing about the price, PCs devalue a whole lot quicker than Macs. The mac fandom works in your favor when selling off old equipment. About these Intel macs, I'd hold off on buying one, still first generation, I'd wait for the kinks to get worked out.
:D as i understand it there's no significant benefits unless you're using a 12th gen intel cpu or perhaps some other fancy new components My machine is a year old so no benefit for me in updating yet. I'll probably hold off for a year or so til they've got a bunch of stability fixes in
When I look back at an old piece, it's always ten times worse than I remember it. So, I started keeping a timeline for myself of old work. Whenever I feel down about how much my work sucks, I look at my old stuff to remind myself I used to suck A LOT more. :poly136: As for old critiques, oftentimes I didn't understand them…
Thanks almighty_gir. Yeah I've added some colour to the spec, but it's probably too much. I'll reduce it and see how it comes out. I've yet to find an example of old wood in PBR so I'm making it up as I go. Hey Hayo, thanks for the tips. Your right I'm trying to get an old tarnished metal look to the main body and barrel,…
Hi I don't suppose there's a way around this...? I have an issue where, if I select my output path, and save my bakes, and then decide to delete the bake files and re-bake, the preview bake just puts the old/previous bake files back on the model. I don't understand how or why it does this. How can it restore the old bake…
Hello people. Recently finished this old cold war era German SMG. There is a longer MPL version, but I really like small SMGs with foldable stocks so I stuck to the more compact model. Any feedback etc is massively appreciated. A turntable and viewer is also available on my Artstation - https://www.artstation.com/j3dj.…
Minding my own business working on an asset when I encountered an issue and here we are with a tutorial. Most of it is part of old Polycount but some fresh take. Full version here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/rlGqrE Its 2025 we have nanite, AI, lots of procedural tools and fancy features yet I keep seeing students,…
