It didnt take much; I already have one. I've worked with some previously so I had a good idea what to expect. I felt it would come in handy for a few hobbies old and new, so I snagged one along with a small vacuum-form and some mold making kits.
I was a bit busy this week, this is what i made so far: > I changed his face 'cause the old one wasnt dynamical enough, i don't know, i just didn't like it. Now he is looking more dominant. >The hands. >I started doing the gold things and the fluffy stuff.
@neilberard That's expected behavior. Lightmapped UV's are atlased to a lightmap texture. Only UV offset and scale are used for atlasing. (Tiling XY and Offset XY). I'm pretty sure Unity 4 works the same way. My advice is to hold off upgrading as long as possible. I miss the old Unity 4 days.
This is the first time it's ever done this, I've always maintained the same output settings... It is odd. Im re-texturing an old model for my portfolio ( https://www.artstation.com/artwork/gameboy-pocket ) Maybe, just maybe it's something to do with the Obj files. Thanks for you help though, im sure this is just a one off.
Isn't this an interesting case of the "double-posty necro dance" Dejawolf made this thread a year ago, and just yesterday reposted the same link in a new thread. And Lamont, instead of posting in the new thread, posts in the old thread from a year ago. It's some kind of bizarro world. I'm scared. Somebody hold me.
Damn, some of those vehicles look like they're at the same poly count as BF2's, they must have some very scaled LOD models for zooming in and out! Looks neat, generally I don't like games in a real-world setting, but maybe this can rekindle some old Command & Conquer nostalgia.
Hello, I was wondering if you guys would help me out. I skimmed trough a post by someone the other day concerning molding. I cant seem to find it. It dealt with taking an edge and converting it to a spline then just setting the renderablity to planar. How do you go about doing that, i managed to kindof do it, but could not…
Hi Richard, I agree with you, sometimes my texturing and polygon distribution could be better but I think this level of detail would hold up in an third person shooter. It is what I made at work and it works. It's true I'm working the old way and i will try next time to do something more clean and modern.
Oh if only my life was only that interesting. What Googling DOESN'T bring up random "hot girls", seriously. Also, this computer is less than a week old so it's not like I've yet had that cold and stormy night to explore my less hetero side lately :P Am done now :D
