Hello,
I was wondering if you guys would help me out. I skimmed trough a post by someone the other day concerning molding. I cant seem to find it.
It dealt with taking an edge and converting it to a spline then just setting the renderablity to planar.
How do you go about doing that, i managed to kindof do it, but could not repeat the process

In Max, edge sub-object mode has a button "create shape from selection", choose linear. Then click on the shape, and in the Rendering rollout click Enable In Viewport and set it to Rectangular.
Yeah in max.
Does the initial object have to be anything in particular? Mesh/Poly/Patch
Don't forget to hit Enable In Renderer too.
Sweep has a few interesting custom shapes that make for some interesting trim, as well as the ablity to define a custom shape. VERY handy. It also lets you pick the point it aligns to so you can make the trim set flush with the building. Sweep also makes some nice I-Beams, its fun to make curvy custom I-beams heh...
Just keep an eye on the "Interpolation setting" it defaults to 6, I set it to zero for most low poly work.
And that post was probably me, since I keep whoring the idea out in a few threads. Dekard posted it in the sticked enviro thread.
