Hello I'm a beginner wishing to start seriously and improve. I currently draw 4 hours (at most) a day but I need to push it further. There was a podcast by Feng Zhu (Design Cinema Podcast EP 6), and I remember something like "it needs to be at least 6 hours or longer or else you will never reach professional standards".…
Hey guys, As the animbreak challenge is currently on hiatus I thought I'd start a new challenge thread as my last one was a few weeks ago (Check out what people did in the last challenge here - http://polycount.com/discussion/185739/challenge-the-descent/). No deadline. No winners. Just for funsies. This one focuses on…
I have run into some confusion on when is a static mesh actually an instance where it is reducing its draw calls in the project. Every static mesh in the detail panel has the word (instance) after it. However, from what I have gathered, these are not the same as instanced static meshes (ISM) created with a BP actor.…
i'd suggest going back to the 2d, doing more sketches... get as much reference as you can and draw draw draw. if you do that, then you won't need me to tell you what's wrong with your work so far :)
Wow!, nice paintings!! Corel draw? Or Photoshop. One crit though, more like a suggestion. Drawing thin borders to fine tune the hair and other parts of the face to sharpen the drawing wouldnt hurt. :) And Are you indian?

If i got to redo it i would focus on 1 thing till it was "mastered", and then maybe move on. I got stuck into doing polar opposites…
I need to start drawing more....a lot more. I'm pretty much starting from the beginning and I would love critiques. I'm going to start out by studying the head. Drawing skulls, drawing from pictures and occasionally doodle to develop my own style. So to start things off: Edit: Got rid of crappy doodle.

thatanimator: That's some fabulous shooting poses! joarwho: Looks like the you have some weird camera movement going on. For this type of animation It's better to have a still camera if you're looking for crits. heboltz3: Cool idea! Just some suggestions. Is she shooting him in the kneecaps? Either way the zombie could do…
