Some questions. I'm coming from Modo, and thinking about doing some of the modeling tasks in Blender in the future (love the Hardops/ Boxcutter tools). I'm not sure if Blender really can compete with Modos modeling tools. Maybe you can tell me if Blender can: - deform polygons with a falloff. Not talking about sculpting -…
Hmmm... http://www.tnt.tv/schedule/daily/ says it was something called 'Highwaymen', starring Jesus! [ QUOTE ] Highwaymen - Since the hit-and-run murder of his wife five years ago, Rennie Cray (Jim Caviezel) has crisscrossed America in his souped-up, stripped-down '68 Plymouth Barracuda, pursuing her killer. The man he…
Being a CG orientated forum, I see this comparison a lot. I'd like to remind people that most of these games studios that we're hearing about are not an outsourcer like VFX companies; they are usually internal studios within a larger entity. In typical first sculpt fashion it seems you've gone to high a subdivision to fast, so you end up with a blobby sculpt. Stay in lower polycounts/sub divisions for as long as you can to set the forms then move up only when you have exhausted every last polygons use for shape.
quite a few of your wood textures have just sinuous lines, real wood has straighter lines with variations of sinuous lines, maybe take more time to block out the direction of the grain before you start painting. I really love the direction you are taking with the last texture.
lol, I thought the movie was actually kind of silly. I have to admit it takes more than one watch to actually appreciate it's silly humour and the film overall. But man, the willy wonka scene with the guy from back to the future was hiliarious :D
Cool stuff, I managed to spill my drink while watching. I guess that puts it pretty high on the impact scale. I assume everyones seen the dove ad too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhCn0jf46U&mode=related&search=
I'm semi going the other way for the time being (picking up more real time focused freelance work). You should be fine. Working with real time will be a bit of an adjustment for you but nothing all that bad-most of the terminology will be similar. Best of luck, I think you'll be great. Love that shot of yours.
