14 years old? That's excellent texture work for someone your age! I'm much older, and I still can't texture that well. I agree with some of the other posters. It wouldn't take much to learn some rudimentary 3D skills. If you prefer texture painting, you can still specialize in it. I certainly think you have the necessary…
I had to get a new computer last month, so I went with 8gb of RAM and Vista64. So far it has been okay. Some things are in different places, the UAC is annoying at first, and it does use a lot of RAM (thats fairly painless at 8gb though). The noteworthy problems: My tablet acts oddly in max. When I hold down alt to tumble…
So another quick update,i am still chip away at this environment every free moment i can get and i have vowed to myself to take this environment to the end. So the texture and model of the bridge is finished. Overall happy with the look of it,at least for the time being. Also modeled out the low poly lamp, there are two…
Either way works, I wouldn't shy away from ngons. I rig and skin characters all the time and ngons aren't problematic, in a lot of cases they are ideal. You do need to be mindful of how it will triangulate because that can cause issues but that is really easy to manage. Most of the time I focus on weight painting and don't…
Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to make UE4 match the other shaders by any reasonable means. I think marmoset has a UE4 shader, but it's wildly inaccurate anyway. But to get it to look good inside UE4, I think you need to reduce the contrast in the roughness map. Bring everything closer to a middle range.
@Priscilla_CM I really like the way way you have everything blocked out so you can go further into detail. A couple things I would comment on is the bucket, the accordion thing in the back, and the fabric that goes around the rolls. For the bucket to give it more of that stylized look I would say make each plank a bit…
Hi there, so I was in the process of creating a rig for my character and was using the Heat Map solution for Weight painting in 3DS Max. But I got this error saying 'Weighing was unable to complete due to bad mesh'. I honestly have no idea what this means, but I decided to bring my character into Mixamo to test things out.…
ACE work everyone. @ fightpunch : Look at you bringing King Julian into the future. AWESOME! X-Post BAybyyyyyy: Still going with this. Almost done with the texture.....ALMOST!. Just playing around with some ideas. Gotta finish it off soon coz I am getting over it. Keep it up polydudes.
Substance painter's height map range selector has black in the center and white at the fringes, Substacne designer has black at one end (lowest), with white at the opposing (highest) so in SP does black in the center represent SP's average height, or does it represent the lowest point?
You might just make a copy of the sculpt (just so you can experiment a bit), and lower the scale of the eyes, nose and mouth. Also bring the brow ridges lower and flatten out the eye slope so its not as elf like. Just to see. Maybe widen the skull a tad so its more like the sketch.
