aside from a very uninspiring model, I agree on the to much slices they could be easily reduce, just select the loops alt+l (with shortcut override enabled) and then ctrl+backspace to remove them without killing the faces. edit: snap seems I have been to slow

anyone else get riled up by statements like this? I think truly brilliant visual effects are achieved when they need not be mentioned because they should blend so brilliantly with the live action that it enables the viewer/reviewer to concentrate on more important aspects (plot, characterisation etc).
Do you mean in viewport or rendered out? If you mean just regular rendered out, go into render settings and towards the bottom you should see a check box for "Enable Default Light", uncheck it, and make sure all the other lights in your scene are hidden.

For whatever reason, Photoshop does not save my graphics processor settings. These are the settings found under Edit > Preferences > Performance > Graphics Processor Settings. Hey, i'm trying to do alot of extruding and decided to look at a problem that has always annoyed me. When extruding a 90 degree corner looses so much volume as the image below shows. is there away to keep this volume in maya as i extrude or is there a plugin that will enable this style of extruding? In zbrush how do you enable transparency with the floor option with either ghost or transparency ? i know my way around zbrush to some extend by i rarely used this option for sculpting. I press transparency and my reference turns see-through, the ghost button is grayed out. This is what i have
