Subdivide your model without smoothing. Mudbox is notorious to have problems with painting on low poly. CTRL+Shift+D and disable everything then CTRL+D to subdive it (IIRC). Then paint away.
I think the eyes are making her face looks off. Lowering the upper eyelids and making the iris smaller might help. Right now it looks like she's looking upward.

That's very cool spacemonkey. The colors look good too, I've seen the same scheme used in some of your other work iirc. No matter, it's looking pretty bad ass already.

Nope, last time I checked IIRC when you do assets for a company it becomes totally their property, waiving your rights to own the meshes you got paid for making.
the fact that this weapon exists IRL is super gay i can think of about a million other better things that the r&D money that went in to this could have been better used for.
