The work here is absolutely unreal. And pretty nice to find you guys on PolyCount, I think it's pretty cool to see you guys sharing the results with other 3D artists. Definitely inspiring, and good to see these HD monsters in the game! Good luck!
@"Tea Monster" - have you tried running Photoshop as an administrator, closing it, and then running the Suite afterward? Let me know if that works for you! Feloxy: Please send an e-mail to waqar@quixel.se and he'll take care of your license issue.
Here's a quick sketch. Will probably exaggerate proportions and monster-like qualities a lot more in the final. Didn't really feel like rendering a ton of fabric patterns for the concept, but there will be a ton of luxurious patterns in the textures for sure. Pretty stoked to begin work in 3D!
Super inspiring, and you really have done everything with that 256px that I ever could imagine. Now just add a huge monster that ruins the town and all is perfect! >=D Nah but seriously, what ever you do with it, it will be great. Good job!
Boy have I learnt a lot about this shader workflow - Arnold displacement in particular is quite a tricky thing. All is well however and this guy will be done soon, a good thing too as I've got other monsters rolling around in my head!
Yeah that sounds exactly like what I'm looking for, thank you Monster. I use Maya so I'l look up this Turtle Renderer. That sounds like a plugin I might have to look around for, am I correct in that assumption?
Yes, it's a spider like thing. I thought of the spider was from incredibles. But I looked at the concept and found out it is from samurai jack's season 2. The monster called "The beast". I based the C walk cycle off the cycle from the episode.
Humans I usually have a good base to start from so that is under a day. From scratch... 3-5 days??? Monsters and stuff without a base I usually get pressured to hurry up if it goes past 3 days. Sucks.
Feels like it's been forever since I posted any 3d on here. Been workin on this guy on and off for the last month, been through several iterations and failed ideas. My first polypaint model as well. Final renders are from max, bit of a rush job but I'm happy with how it came out. [shameless plug] Special thanks to the nice…
I'm contributing to an indie game called Monster Odyssey which uses a top-down view of board-game style levels. All textures will be hand painted and far more on the cartoony side of things. This little reference sheet describes the terrain we're shooting for, and roughly the art style as well. I've never worked with…
