The lighting makes the vegetation [if that's what it is] look like models and not vegetation... like I mean they look like they're made of steel or something and just plopped down there.
Would it be possible to see some vegetation breakdowns as well? If something really stands out in ryse i would say its the vegetation!! And thanks for the "tutorials" so far, really intresting and inspiring! Thanks for sharing!!
I wanted to share one of my vegetable shake recipes with you guys [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd6LVtbfqlA"]Vegetable Shake for health and weight loss - YouTube[/ame] so I did
Another question, since my character wil be wrapping and curving itself around a large rock with lots of vegetation can I consider the rock itself to be part of the character polygon limit? (vegetation will be part of the pedestal limit ofc)
Thanks. Today my upload is a progress shot of me making a bush/shrub of some sort. I have been in fact remaking, changing my mind, and learning as I have gone on throughout this project. One of the main reasons I chose this idea was to work on my skills with a more organic environment. I see myself as more of a hard…
Having recently watched the excellent talk at Gnomon by some
Naughty Dog environment artists (in this case I’m referring to Anthony Vaccaro’s
portion of the talk), I’m aiming to observe the ingame environment through the
same lens of large/medium/small shapes (or 'layer cake') to see if there is a ‘gradation of
detail’…
well yes, as is also the vegetation grass, but other vegetation types are for example painted , it really depends what comes out best , the palm trees in crysis 1 where most probably handpainted while ther trunk was photosourced and reworked .
Silver is right about the symmetry. But I can't tell if you have vegetation set up yet or if the terrain is just green in the parts where there will be vegetation. Because I think once that is added it will help break things up a bit as well.
whats your tri count so far? in the CE3 docs they give recommended budgets for vegetation: http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDOC3/Vegetation+Budgets I think the pine needle cards are too heavy, and the tree trunk could probably be 8 sided cylinder.
With the vegetation down on the tracks, try placing it in clumps of vegetations that vary in sizes rather than a uniform spread. The platform has it done this way. Doing it this way will give the eye somewhere to go as it looks around rather than trying to find somewhere to go and getting lost.
