Cars were baked from HP to low with tile rust and paint and masks. You can tell if you get up close. variations were done with a tint that can be placed per instance. Some interiors are shared, tires are shared also, or use one texture atlas, some windows were also shared. For those shots your seeing the cars could have…
I would still get camera shot from the ground level. Crane shots like these are good sometimes but dont show how a person the the ground can look at a car. In car shows, car are usually on a pedestal, and not seen from the top down. Food for thought. Good luck.
The pulley mechanism in the middle of the arch makes no sense, the gondola supports that keep the car on the line would hit it, and stop the car completely. For that to work, the wire has to go over the top of the pulley, and the armature that holds the car has to curve to fit around the pulley as it passes over it. Note…
Hey Polycount, Releasing Quadify Ultra today, and wanted to share it here since this community has always been where serious topology conversation happens. https://youtu.be/1_7xRSyeLUc What it is Quadify Ultra is a retopology addon for Blender 5.0 with an ML routing engine. You select a mesh, hit Ctrl+Shift+Q, and it…
From time to time I'm thinking of modelling a car, but always fail to find good references and give up. I think the viewers recognize directly if something is not accurate on a car, or maybe I just overrate it and that's the main issue. :D I'm looking for references for exterior and interior, precise, detailed and complete…
High five back to you sir! Can you post pictures of the hi res version. that will help determine what is going on with the wheels 'thingies' as you put it. :) My guess would be they are 90 angles so your bake isn't picking them up. You could fix the hi poly model or strengthen them up in ps. Over-all I think the car looks…

Can someone tell how close Unreal path tracer could be to Octane or Red Shift for rendering images , textures, backgrounds ? I am quite tired of Octane quirks lately . So would like to ask if anyone use Unreal rather not as a game engine but more like a regular renderer? Can it output usual AOVs and do render layers ? I…
Hey everyone! I'm working on a new model for school. It's a design I kinda worked up on-the-fly based on some of the tri-wheel concept cars that have been conceived recently. I've never modeled a car before so this is a fairly new thing for me. If you have any suggestions for how I can improve, by all means, let me know.…
I was wondering the same.... does it stay the same once the car is warmed up. If it stays once the car is warmed up, then it could very well be the fuel pump. Maybe even a fuel filter. One thing to listen for is when the fuel pump starts pumping, is it loud? Typically the fuel pump pressurizes the system when you first…
