Car references - looking for

From time to time I'm thinking of modelling a car, but always fail to find good references and give up.
I think the viewers recognize directly if something is not accurate on a car, or maybe I just overrate it and that's the main issue.
I'm looking for references for exterior and interior, precise, detailed and complete to some extend (hidden parts like engine gears or even engine not needed).
Photo references often miss some areas and the blueprints/drawings available lack details.
I've seen crazily detailed models and wonder what you use as reference.
Maybe plastic model kits or even CAD data?!

I always thought this kind of blueprints are not detailed enough, but maybe I just need to give it a try and just add missing details with other references.
