Hey you lovely lot. First post on this site so I'm kinda nervous but I digress. As a side project from uni work, I am working on a little turntable fight scene between some Lego figures in 3D. Not had a lot of spare time at the moment but here are some samples of what I've got so far. Here is the first figure, based off…
Fellow hobbyist here. Agree with the notion of doing vice being. I do find value in tutorials but not in the traditional sense of following along step-by-step but by treating it as a class lecture, making notes and looking for new tricks and techniques along the way. Modeling time lapse videos are great for this.
i did this primarily because I'm going to need it at work on monday but it's a neat enough trick that it's worth sharing here generally speaking I don't do a lot with fx-maps. most things can be done better in pixel processors if you apply enough maths but in this instance I will need to take advantage of their inherent…
Hey you guys all have some really great ideas! I especially liked ninja's and rick's. Ninja, I was thinking of a way we could get your survival horror game, "only die once " game to work....How about it's on xbox live for maybe 15 dollars. And if you beat it, then you either A: get the game for free. Or you maybe get a…
I don't think its quality drop exactly. My idea is that "photo-real" on realtime rasterizing engine whatever advanced it might be still requires certain level of special visual style , an art transformation of reality . Not like usual stylized hand-painted games, typical for mobile games but still lots of show vs hide…
If you mean I'm somehow frustrating per with this thread, I'd be happy to talk it out with him in PMs... Actually I'm fine working on props at work, I would do character but in no way would state that I'll 'only' do character. Actually at Ubi at least it doesn't pay much more and it's a ton more headache and pressure. What…
More Blockout, Material Considerations and Trimsheet Planning I have blocked out a lot of pieces and have began to consider about the materials that i will need as well as what i will need on my trimsheet. I have planned out some pieces of my trimsheet and blocked out some basic pieces. The red will be a strip of bricks,…
more updates! I've updated the dumpsters, although the front scuff marks are still part of the main diffuse texture, i've added a decal to the front to help mix it up a bit. I've also removed all of the signs from the dumpster diffuse map, and made 3 decal materials using the textures i think they're 128 in size, can't…
Some good comments on here , thanks. It funny how some people find the uv part of the workflow as the more relaxing part. I find modelling and texturing immensely more fun. UV`ing , which is why I posted this thread, is the part that breaks the creative cycle for me. I`ve just modelled say a network of pipes, I want to…
