Oh, I'm the Egg King. I had the fan community in a tizzy searching for the ten numbered eggs in VCS, I've even had eggs mentioned in reviews. Not only are they a giggle to do and find, they can also be a good way of vagueing away bugs you thought you'd fixed 6 times already (no, you are really NOT supposed to be able to…
Hi Polycount, Just posted 1.5.0 beta 3 (win 64) here. This should be the final beta for 1.5.0. I will be posting the LINUX and Mac betas shortly. I've added two new map types 'Hard Edges' and 'Alpha Mask'. I'll post some examples soon. You can use the 'Hard Edges' to do edge wear. It's based on the low poly mesh topology,…
@Boosted24v You have a good start but like Mattias mentioned: it's less of an issue with the process itself and more of an issue with the overall shape. The edge width is also a little too tight and a little too consistent across the entire model. This is causing the injection molded parts to read less like polymer and…
Hello! I been wondering if there is a tool or such in Blender to allow me to merge 2 edge loops at the last selected edge loop, I DO NOT MEAN bridge edge loops, I am talking about merging. I would be very thankful if you know a way or can offer some tips/tricks on doing this. I need to merge loop A to loop B vertices,…
You can reinforce your edges to maintain hard edges as in the image below The left box has reinforced edges which maintains the shape of the cube (The last image shows the corner on how these edges are layed out) The second cube just uses chamfered edges which gives a rounder cube. And the last has no edge reinforcement…
You are very welcome. :) I remember when I first started out with making things in 3D. I was utterly clueless hahaha, and I thought I could make a lightsaber. Sounds simple enough just a metal cylinder. But oh boooy was I wrong, there is so much more to it in order to make a good realistic looking lightsaber. Top marks!…
Hello friends and associates, I am working on a sword for a VR game mod, and I've opted to mirror and weld one half of the sword so I can maximize pixel density in the materials. This is the first time i've ever made an asset with baking where I didn't just lay out everything in the UVs with no overlapping. So of course,…
Thanks for the advice! I guess making the piping in maya along the curve of the seam would've been easier, yeah. I already made them in MD the way I mentioned before - by creating tubes from separate rectangles and then stitching them to the edges of pillows. I then switched them to quads, exported as highpoly; reduced…
@JordanDaushvili There's a few thing that can cause this baking error. Since the mesh already has hard edges, UV splits and UV padding then it's probably a ray miss caused by the bake settings. If you're using Blender to bake normals with edge splits: you'll need to enable the cage offset in the Selected to Active settings…
While not related to Racers, this does relate to the ridiculousness involved: http://toucharcade.com/2010/05/07/edge-back-on-the-app-store-again-and-on-sale/ 'Thanks to us the word "edge" is now free to exist on the App Store like on any other marketplace, and games like Mirror's Edge, Shadow Edge, Killer Edge Racing or…
