@PyrZern I'm being super noob here but just let me ask you a question! Although it would fall under fan art category, it would still be referred to as my demoreel, right? I mean, I can tell people that it's my demoreel, right? :) This question is for everyone too!! :)
@PyrZern Well I've been thinking of making a general amount, like a mix of everything, or props that peak my interest. I'm not sure if I have a specific category yet, but I'm just wondering if making a various of different props if that is fine?
PyrZern Hey! Thanks for checking this out and the feedback. I'll try to adjust what you say about the pants a little. :) Another update, I wanted to see her with some color, so here is a quick polypaint. (the hair still need work)
PyrZern Your not suppose to look at the topology ;) Im just working the aesthetics. I polypainted in Zbrush and now painting in photoshop to finish him off. No baking. Rabant Yeh, Ill slowly get around to tightening the textures. Still working on the overall design.
Focus less on the small details, and start with planes of face will help. Also, less subdiv. Once you manage nice proportions and forms, start hitting facial features with real model refs. http://www.pinterest.com/PyrZern/reference-faces-n-hair/
Nice job!! Hey guys sorry for my flood, but before I can't input my character. Thanks Dimfist, soon I change the character shoulders. Bacn, Ok, I will shrink the trapezius, thanks!!! PyrZern Sorry, but thanks for tips!!! Thanks!!!
Thanks for the comments! @jaker3278 good questions...Maybe sci fi? I'd like to go back to my roots someday :) I'm not sure yet tbh. I always felt like i was more of a generalist so I'm not sure on what I'd like to specialize. @PyrZern yes i shall do that. Thanks!
Looking good Pyrzern, can't wait till I get up to clothing (nearly there). Here's my procedural skin texturing thing I do in 3ds Max back in the paint room in 3D-Coat: This is her generic all over skin texture, I'm doing a photo based face texture now...
@Neox Thanks for the paintover that was really helpful! @PyrZern I'm trying, haha, thank you. :p I tried to bring him closer to the reference. I need to go back and clean things up but I wanted to move on to blocking out the body today. Let me know what you all think. :)
Tobbo: Yeah I know I shouldn't, it makes it easy to feel complacent with my work when I feel it's better than other students, but as you said, I should be competing against other industry artists. Thanks for the firm reminder. I actually have a lot of really good artists portfolio's I like bookmarked, and I take a look at…
