I have something I'm having a bit of trouble with: I'm working on a blade. I need a crisp edge on the face of the blade, but the loops terminate on the loop for the circular cutout. Ok, I fixed it 5 minutes after posting. For anyone else having this problem here is what fixed it: I made the geometry nonplanar. This piece of geo is a circle with a vert in the middle which I shifted down so the circle is not completely flat.
the detail on the reference are a honeycomb shape but the ones on your model are circles.{my mistake} looking closer they are actually circles :\. On a different note, i think the shape of your cone seems a little thin, it might just be me, but it cant hurt to double check.
