Hey! I currently have a particle system attached to the player that spawns planes with a rain texture on them. The player can walk into buildings inside the level I created..... And it rains inside, no suprise there! I was wondering If there was a way to cull the particle system with a volume or something else? Thanks guys!
There are several Texture and Material scanning Systems out there. Quixel Megascans, Chaosgroup does have one, X rite an other one and HP is working on a System for Home use. https://youtu.be/8alYZgkwClM https://www.xrite.com/categories/appearance/tac7
Well there's a mesh for the volumetric effect, the material fades out at grazing angles. Then there's a simple particle system for the smaller floating particles. I even used one of the standard assets as a texture (T_Dust_Particle). Oh and there's another cloudy dust particle system.
EarthQuake - I Just got back to this thread and did a little research, you are right it is not a law in US but a system to enable parents to make an informed decision. I apologise. I assumed the age rating system was enforceable in US as it is in UK.
Try going to run and typing: sfc /scannow sfc stands for System File Checker, if it finds corrupt or modified system files it will attempt to replace them with the original file so you will need your Windows XP disc on hand.
ah my bad, i would have to say that may be chalked up to some of the custom programming that went into their water system. I think they claimed that had 1 artist and 1 programmer working solely on water systems for a year.
I wouldn't really say that Watch Dogs went through some "serious downgrades." Of course the final product is going to look worse than the demo simply because when the demo was shown off, it involved a small fraction of the gameplay systems that existed. Between the time the demo was shown off and the time that "ugly"…
I'll read all the posts after I post my first impression of what I want to see in a horror game. -No quick time events and never take full controller away from the player -hybrid system of random and scripted events. -Slowly add more and more stuff that does not make logical sense. Make the player feel like they are…
I like that last GIF, it shows that it's really some kind of particle system that's involved in the original effect. The problem with using a 3D particle system is that the particles need to be created in 3D as well. Right now they're all being created at the same spot on the windshield; it would need some spread as if the…
Well, you must look at it in wider perspective. First of all you can't beat free (you just cut out some costs of software front). Second thing Linux is more stable. Not just in terms on how it works, but on how it is developed. You won't see any completly brekaing changes*I'm looking at you Windows 8), that won't be…
