____________________________ Rather than focusing on heavy neon colours and typical 70s/80s sci-fi imagery, I have instead gone for an approach with heavy influences from dystopian literature - choosing to use a look inspired by Soviet propaganda. At this point, the playside of the receiver and the magazine are done; I'm…
When I think of 70s-80s science fiction I think about space, robots, crazy technology and bright color schemes. The first set of skins I'm attempting will embody this concept through line art featuring circuitry. This will be my first attempt at creating weapon skins and participating in a contest so please bear with me on…
Hello everybody! Just starting to post here more frequently. I think I finished this one. What do you think? It's Eric, the cavalier. It's a redesign series for my portfolio. I plan to make all of the characters from the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoon from the 80s. I'm trying to make them older, more confident and with…
http://popwatch.ew.com/2009/09/17/henry-gibson-an-appreciation/ While not a power house like Swazye or Jackson, hopefully a lot of you will remember his memorable characters in the 80s. I remember him the most from the Burbs; I saw that movie at my friends house during the day and it still freaked me out for decades and a…
I am trying to render a crystal/diamond sphere - I am about 80% I feel, but I'd like to get stronger highlights. I've messed around with some of the settings in mental ray but not getting anything I'm particularly happy with. Any thoughts? I have one spot light with HDRI turned on, one point light, and an HDRI map
Hay, I worked on the PP-Bizon skin based on the theme "70-80s Sci-Fi". This is my first try of designing a skin for CS:GO, so pls be gentle :# Ref: Bringing the design to the weapon I mainly focused on the magazine of
the Bizon, which lead me to this design. Steam: Here I appreciate suggestions, rather on the Skin itself…
Yes, this is an unfortunate downside. There used to be this variable that you could edit - 'r.diffusefromcaptures 1' - but it's been removed for some reason in the most recent versions. You still have screen space reflections, but they are a poor substitute. Or you could look into Enlighten…
Thanks, I figure I'm about 80% there. This is only my 3rd piece of game art, so I've learned a ton about workflow and UDK from this scene. It has been a slow process because I have stop to learn the tools each time I get to a new stage of development.
Box/Gaussian Blur or a Lerp between two states of the texture with the latter having another lerp (a la Hemispherics) to determine coloration of the blur needs to be heavy. The prior usually costs around the 70-80+ instructions on the lightest while the latter costs around 20+ pending on how much on steroids you put it.
