Max 2012 has my entire UV workflow. Cut the seams, block the groups then relax like a mofo until everything is peachy. Few tweaks along the way. Seems everyone has a 3rd party app to start it though ?
Damn. I hoped there is a more simple, more elegant solution to this. :( So basically I have to create one UV island for every piece which should have the same texture and then arrange and relax it until the texture looks good...
Looks like you're doing the tutorial that one of my university Tutors wrote. Is it the one by Barry Lowndes on YouTube? :) Here's how to do a checker material too: Most likely cause of action is to just Relax your UVs again. :)
It's relaxed to prevent distortion or stretching, you can straighten the UVs to make it align with the mesh better, either option is fine and they both have their own pros and cons. It's talked about on this thread http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=134749
You hav e alot of noise in this scene. Not enough big shapes to relax the eyes. Its just line after line after line. Try makeing the walls simpler, less rectangle, or changing the lighting to give it a stronger focus.
Also some subdivision methods relax (like turbosmooth) and you lose a lot of volume in things like fingers and toes. Without enough geometry its easy to for those things to go from full and correct to pitchfork like in a heartbeat.
even if you know you can pause, the flashing up pics go against the relaxed, cool and measured pace of the rest of the reel and music. its not only to garner interest, its a first impression. edit: oh and the work is fucking A
Well, I don't mean to discourage but for now you need to learn and practice much more in order to make your portfolio. I mean, a protfolio is usually done with a purpose of getting a job in related filed. Your current level in my opinion does not seem to be sufficient to get a 3d/game related job. It concerns both content…
Hi everyone! I'm creating this environment to update my portfolio and to learn about the urban-realistic style by creating props, tiles and trim materials. My initial goal was to remake this section of the subway level of Silent Hill 4 with modern graphics standards, with the added intention of making it "playable" in…
This thread is only for reporting errors on individual model archive pages. Posts should read something like: The rating scores for the Quake 2 Undead Warrior don't look like all the other models'. Or perhaps: The Quake 2 models Alien and Sailor Moon have "related links" sections, but don't have "related links" headings.…
