I see lots of 5 sided faces. as for the 1000 tri count limit.... i suggest, since its just for you, you raise it to 2k. its a neat little design, i like it, but the mdoel needs a few more edge loops to add to give the roundness of what your design shows -

there's no reason to have any loading times whatsoever, other than the tiny blip of time it might take to load onscreen images. Hey Irritant, like Pea said, mighty hardcore of you to have gotten this far with your game project, it seems to have been a success thus far. As for showing some renders, I recommend downloading Npherno's GL viewer which I use to take nice screenshots, it won't give you any saturation effect like Deep Exploration does.… -

I believe 3dstudio was used, but not sure. The original Quake models were processed from exported .ASC files which are generated to an mdl using Modelgen with the appropriate QC file for frame macros and the like. -
