A.) yes and now, with the latest firmware (a few days ago, the one with facebook photo upload support) nintendo prevented 3rd party hardware to work anymore with their device which makes it harder to run custom software on it.

This one works as well, probably not as fancy as that other one though. I know this one works, tried it myself several times. Quite limited camera control and the camera i a bit skewed.
