Oooooh I'll have to try this method out. I'm with HP, A lot of times if I work from high to low, I'll just remove the turbosmooth modifier and spent a couple minutes removing retainer edges and use that for my low. Having chamfered edges here is a pain in the pooper.
Yeah I think the solid suppressor is definitely the way to go with it, with groves for the "removable" end caps. IRL, end caps can normally be removed to service internals and also to swap out threading adapters for the different barrel types and threads (and also QD muzzle break designs).
Ahahahaah, sorry, but the first time I read it, I understood that odium was suggesting me to add more geometry to the mesh. Now the problem is, how did I remove those giant seams where the faces connects? I've spend hours trying to remove them but nothing.
I dunno about 3ds but in Blender UV coordinates are properties of the polygons (in OpenGL they're properties of the vertices). Perhaps Wings doesn't remove the welded polygons in order to keep the UVmap intact. Try importing into Blender and see how it looks. Try running a remove doubles over it.
My first thought is to disable all anitaliasing. I had that problem with Max. I would also make sure that when you install another driver you completely remove the last one. They have nvidia driver remove utils at guru3d.com if I remember correctly.
Quick thing, the varnished wood material's texture has a number on it, looks like a 790 and that can be a bit weird if it's being used on a medieval asset or any other in which the number doesn't really make sense. And it's a bit of a pain to have to remove it each time, so if you guys could remove it for the next version…
Maybe an automated somewhat crowd sourced removal process would work. Something like: 3 Polycounters with post count > 1000 or join date > 2 years ago report a post as spam, then it automatically gets removed along with all other posts by the same user and the user is banned.
I would remove them, they are on the stock and never seen in first person anyway, which is where you would get the most detail visible, in any other mode you will never notice the difference... You have two choices really, remove the indents, or add a slight chamfer.
Added some textures on top of it with some gradients and corrections in SP, definetely really fun to do. Removed the wrapping. I still have some darker spot in the textures that I'll need to remove, but I'd love to have more feedback! Thank you and have a nice day :D
