Thanks for the responses. I never did "fix it" but simply welded both sides of the UVs together and removed the middle edge. Again, this was to remove the normal maps seem. I did learn something about avoiding the issue in the first place so thanks. -
Maya not deleteing layer that is reference
Alright, I'm trying to remove a layer that came with an import. Basically the layer doesn't show up with reference editor but if you look in the layer window in the bottom right you'll see it there and when you go to select it then it will say that this is a reference to another scene. How do i remove this as i've deleted… -

Never-to-be-seen surfaces can be omitted. Exceptions are if animation exposes parts that aren't seen in the modeled pose. Or if the character has removable parts, like removing a hat would expose the top of the head. We have a bunch of info in our wiki about game modelling. -

^ +1 for that. The low poly hard surface mesh can be done by simply removing the subdivision modifier and removing the support loops or bevels. Or even better, make the parts without the supportloops first, duplicate it, add the support loops and keep the another one as the lowpoly. Much faster. -

if you want to reduce some poly count Id say reduce the amount of edges on your cylinders, also you seem to have a lot of extra loops that could be removed, if they don't effect the silhouette then i'd remove it check out the highlighted areas for examples -

Right, to be clear, you can remove the characters BUT you'll have to add something else to tell a story because that simple removal makes the scene boring. So if you're willing to allow for creative freedom and additional assets not in the concept, that one could work, sure. -

I tried that before, didn't work, just crashed when everything got in there. But, I just tried removing the CompositeMode plugin, and now it works. I had it in there when I made it, worked for a week, stopped working, remove CompositeMode, and now it works. Funky. -
