Wow, you've really improved a ton during the course of this character. Great job! I'm not sure if it's just me but the head/face looks a bit too far forward which makes her look less relaxed.
Thanks throttlekitty! Also, can someone answer my question about posing? :D Is it possible to pose the low poly organic character (chimpanzee) after retopo? The hands of the chimpanzee are relaxed at the moment, but they should be to grip the controllers.
Sorry about that I will attach some Reference. Currently here is a new composition and 1st pass at base materials. Wire: Environment Props aren't as well optimized geometrically. Reference: Environment: Refueling/ Relaxing, small outpost.
You heard wrong imo. Blender doesn't even have a proper relax function for UVs. It has some useful unwrapping tools, especially if you like unwrapping things in straight lines, but it could be a lot better.
Feature requests: Spin Edge, Relax Loop, Flow Connect, PolyDraw, and any other feature, not already in Spacedraw, you think is possible from the old 3dsmax Polyboost plugin as seen here: http://www.polyboost.com/features_modelling.htm
I use milkshape to make md3 files into something max can use, but first i find a good frame that has a character in a nice relaxed pose with nphierno's tools and delete any animation it has. Alex
You have a couple options, you can just meshsmooth a cube or you can spherify a cube for more control over the divisions. I like to do a spherify > relax > spherify stack for nicer edge distribution.
This stuff is fucking awesome, Vivin. The only complaint I have is that there are a few places with some loosey-goosey anatomy, particularly on the guy with the helmet and the relaxed pose with the lion and his friend. They're still super nice, though. ; )
Has anyone found a way to set default settings in the various unwrapping tools like in earlier versions...I am currently toying around with the trial and the inability to set the Relax Tool to use 'by Face Angles' as Default Setting is more or less a deal breaker for me...
