Hi guys, After viewing a few models on the pimping forum, just wanted to query everyones technique in modelling eyelashes. I'm currently using hair and fur in maya to generate the right "clumpness and shape" before turning them to a polygon mesh... but surely, theres a better, more reliable technique? Cheers!
Hi all, I am an experienced 3D artist looking for new projects/contract work/networking. You can check out my portfolio here : https://www.artstation.com/costas Any queries or feedback are welcome Thanks Skype : kmichalopoulos kmichalopoulos at gmail.com
Two ways I can think of to accomplish this. I’m assuming the spheres are not attached using a wire or controller because querying that would be the fastest way to find the vertex. So... 1. Get the position of each sphere. Then loop through the verts and get the distance between the verts and the sphere and if the distance…
should be pretty easy (thats what i always think then ram my head into a wall lol). Got a snow day today so might tinker around with MoP's code. Hope he doesnt hate me. :( EDIT: Got it working though not yet in MoP's. Gonna have to browse through his script. Didnt even know I could query that haha. global proc…
I've made this script to toggle between Slide Edge, Slide Surface and Off states consequentially with a single hotkey. Feel free to modify it to suit your needs or to make your own from a scratch. The command you were looking for is `xformConstraint -query -type`. string $SlideStatus = `xformConstraint -query -type`; if…
Hey guys, I've googled but not sure exactly what to query. I want to import a model to 3D Coat from Maya for painting and, just like in Substance Painter, hide certain parts of the model so that I can just paint bits of it, such as the blade of a sword. Please help!
I realize this is a pretty old Query. But in case it might help....I noticed that you are working in orthographic View. I was going through the same problem. However a simple switch from Orthographic View to Perspective view solves the problem for me. Hope this helps.
I had a look at the UV MEL commands and there doesn't seem to be anything to easily query for overlapping. I take it you'd want this for prepping for baking? Is it safe to assume that the overlapping UV part is identical to the underlying one when it comes to shape and UV-space-position?
I ran into this through another query. Funny how google works. I'm aware this is long expired but wanted to let you know I'm available for future work. It was somewhat relevant because I've done something very similar recently. Cheers, J
Hi Scott! I'm not a Maya user, so I can't assist you with this query. I suspect what you're experiencing is probably due to not setting up your material for proper display in the viewport. The Technical Talk subsection should be able to assist you with this! :)
