I had the same issue a couple of days ago - the earthquake we had apparently rattled my hard drive cable loose, and it lost connection later that night while loading a new zone in Hellgate. If windows is timing out writing to the disk, it's either a bad connection or a bad disk. Doublecheck your connections.
Won't help if the connection I'm currently on is slow. Tomorrow I'll be home and should have a fast connection again. I'll be hosting the tutorial on my own hosting, with unlimited bandwidth.
Has anyone else had trouble connecting? I've been getting, "There is a problem connecting to this video call," for the past few days now. Tried re-installing the plugin to no avail.
i have the slowest Virgin Broadband connection, it works fine with 2 computers over w lan... havent had a connection loss yet... maybe it depends on the place tho
I got the same error earlier. Not sure if 'forcing' a connection like that just to use the app is a good idea? (registering is fine but to have to connect to use it seems a bit odd)

You want the conform compound object. It's under compound objects in the create menu. You can't connect vertexes across an edge without cutting the edge. You could try using the slice tool with vertex snap turned on. Or you could insert a vertex on the edge you want to connect across and use regular vertex connect.
