MAYA animating with input connections but on different timings

Hi, I am trying to duplicate a model with it's animation, which is possible with "Duplicate Special" and "Duplicate input connections" checked. Now the models/rigs have incoming connections and therefore one "master animation" which is what I want in order to tweak all animations at once. The Problem is, that I want the animations to start at different frames for each model/rig. I this somehow possible?

Have you tried adding animation layers to individual rigs for the animation offset?

Hm, I think it's not possible to offset the whole animation with an animation layer or am I missing something?
