Try using a 2x2x2 FFD modifier, should help a bit with getting a smooth surface while angling it.. that or.. delete everything but the outer side and rotate it.. then exttrude the edges needed, add a symmetry modifier, and then a shell modifier and done. I don't think you should be all too worried about tri-counts or such…
r_fletch_r's script is pretty cool. Personally in the past I have just used a 2x2 FFD cage for this type of thing. You can just select the verts from the top, bottom, or whatever and numerically align them to the grid or to a specific position on whatever axis.
Arf. This always gets me annoyed. I'm a 2D artist, but technically I'm a Graphic Designer. I call myself both. Game Designers (and every other Designer which falls under game Design categories, such as Level Design) are something completely different. I hate when job listings confuse the role though and drop my role into…
People: Joe Wilson, Sean VanGorder, and Swizzle (Xavier) Tools: Substance Suite, Marmoset Toolbag 3 Studios: Blizzard, CD Projekt Red, and Square Enix Games: The Witcher 3 (technically 2015, Blood & Wine did release this year though), FFXV, Doom
You aren't sending your model straight into mmorpg engine, why would you care about head separation? You will separate it during UVing most probably, but it's up to you if you're gonna keep the whole body as a single mesh. Japanese developers tend to increase polygon density on the faces a lot - check this Leon's model for…
If you are interested in modeling, heres the way to go. On the right hand side there is a few panels stacked one behind the other : Create, modify, hierarchy, controllers, Utilities. (iirc). Go to create, and create a sphere of any parameters you want. Go to the modify panel. You ll find the parameters again if you need to…
Okie dokie... I think for the most part I'm done messing around with the textures for this, now I just need to break it up, make the center of it look bad ass... and do it all over again with new stuff :P I'm gonna try my best to see if i can speed up my process with this project, I know I am slow as ffaaccckk.
i would use lattice in that situation. Create a standard lattice>set the amount, in you case i would say 3 -4 in S divisions > dive into the ffd attributes> set outside Lattice to falloff> increase local influence for a nicer curve> adjust lattice> Great success nice thing about this workflow is that you can adjust as much…
