Great point with drag and drop. I confess I haven't used it much. I'll create a ticket for it! The flickering is a known issue and is hopefully resolved soon with large image support. In the meantime try some tweaks in the settings like turning off mipmaps and see if that helps! Bit depth is a big topic. It is on my to-do…
ya, i'm paranoid about spending money. We use a credit card mainly because of the % of cash we get back based on how much we use it. But we pay the card off each month and make sure we always have enough in savings to pay it off in an emergency. I never buy an appliance/electronic unless I have the cash first. We don't…
Nice work! I love your color palate and your breakdowns (which I will be saving a referencing later ;) ) The biggest critique I would have here is probably your rocks, they don't feel very cohesive to the rest of the props although its hard to put my finger on why. Possibly the scale is off as they look huge compared the…
Hello fine folks of Polycount, I'm looking for some advice on how to pick concepts to work off of that are appealing to recruiters and the artstation community to get noticed and hopefully network and find opportunities. I've made 2 finished portfolio pieces so far (that are far, far far from perfect) but even in their…
I've also sent them a few emails about this, asking for clarification. It's been over a week and all I got was this same automated reply, which seems very detached from reality. Their ignorance is frustrating. They seem to be focused on creator revenue so much that they completely overlooked or forgot about the fact that…
Hello, I't's been a long long time since posting here... I put 3D modeling on hold for a long time and came back to it over this summer. I decided to pick up where I'd left off trying to get a grasp on anatomy and try and complete my ideal 'standard' character model. For now, I wanted to focus mostly on getting the feet…
Is that how it looks in the realistic viewport? How does it look when its rendered? What does it look like if you turn off the diffuse and normal map? What does it look like if you turn off Gamma correction? (Main menu > Rendering > Gamma/LUT Settings > Disable) If a normal map is being gamma corrected it will throw the…
the industry is in a bad spot, thousands have been laid off so you're competing against senior AAA devs who are also having a tough time getting a job. If you want to tailor your portfolio towards getting hired, focusing and organizing is a good idea. I currently see characters and environments and a car; I would separate…
Hey Saidin, Not sure if you already found a source for this but I thought Id give it a try. -A color specular map(this is my definition so someone please correct me if I'm wrong)is a map used to allow the light on a surface to bounce off and create an illusion of specularity. A classic example is the light that bounces off…
You can use Daz3D as a reference to practice anatomy (its free to use). You can turn off textures and dial in muscle mass. Also the sculpture you chose to use has pretty much perfect balace. Check out the posing center line.
