I need to transfer UV from initial low poly to dynameshed mesh from Zbrush . I usually use Data Transfer modifier in Blender for this . It sometimes does subtle mistakes around UV seams but usually it still works fine for further detailing in Zbrush . Gemini tells me 3d max got a massive update in 2026.1 version and now…
@Chris Personally with sltrOlsson I layed out my portfolio models by the type of work I would like to be doing and cathered to the studios I would like to work at. I also looked at other pros in my field and took notes what stood on to me, the main points I took were: Vehicle/Weapon/Prop. I then did even further research…
When the console first came out, that's all it really was to most buyers. Sony even planned on that. At the time it was either $400-600 for a PS3, or rather, a Blu-Ray player that can also play games-- or $600+ for a straight Blu-Ray player, most of which didn't even have the quality of video that the PS3 has. That's also…
I am not sure whats "gradient transfer curve" in Photoshop but it's sounding like "gradient map" . To have library panel gradient preset available you need to right click it there (in library panel) and chose "create gradient preset" . it will copy the preset to last used gradient presets folder . Then it's available for…
Crazy that's still around. I did my very first steps in 3D in POV-Ray. Found it on a multimedia CD from the public library. I had no idea what I was doing or that there were graphical user interfaces for it, I just entered coordinates for blobs along with other parameters like radius etc. and then checked the rendering. I…
Literally just did this today with an 2x2 sheet using 3 channels for 12 decals to a texture(grayscale), worked quite well. I had to combine the link Fwap posted with another one that I can't find right now but it basically got rid of the bleed that was caused...It had a custom node setup with the code - return…
This looks fantastic! =) I do agree with the others though, at the moment it reads a bit more like a barn than a cabin. The details are really strong, especially the vegetation growing up the planks and the aged, damaged roof. Those elements work beautifully and add a lot of character.
Has anyone tried it? I've been waiting eagerly for this; I prefer working on my iPad whenever I can, and I've been searching for a good alternative to my stagnant perpetual license of ZBrush that'll likely stop working at some point. I'm disappointed they did go the subscription route, but it isn't at all surprising and…
Hey I've been working on a 1:1 scale remake of a series of factory units that used to exist in my area for a project and I just have a question about mid-sized assets and how to add more character to them. This is one of the unfinished middle units, I've slapped on some temporary materials in the mean time but I have a…
Grainiest of salts, i only did this kind of hair once (plaines/haircards) i did see something i do not usually see in people's hair which is the frontal view and being able to see the scalp skin, it could be a lighting situation but here is a reference image (g image search pic) + a straight version it could be an age…
