Hey guys, so I just finished this prop for my portfolio. I used a concept made by Romain Durand as a reference for this piece but I added a few things of my own and tried to make it a bit more cartoony. (Also the poly-count is 1k polys and so is the texture map size). Feel free to give me feedback and advice on any aspect…
Hi everyone, I've decided to try and learn painting textures. Here are some of my previous attempts(6 months ago): I could never quite get the depth right, it took ages to finish anything and I mostly gave up. Now I have a month o more or less free time, we'll see how it goes! Day 1 Day 2 Any critiques and suggestions…
Nice progress! I'm not gonna do a flashy paintover or give crits because I'm not qualified to comment by any means, but one little thing that helped me a LOT when I did hand painted face textures: http://www.pig-brain.com/tut01/ap_facetut.pdf
So im trying to attach a rigid mesh to the current VR mesh to make it look prettier(the new mesh im attaching will always stay on.) The pivots are lined up to were everything looks okay in the viewport, but i haven't managed to figure out how to make it stay. Do I need to add a function to the skeleton BP? I added a socket…
There seems to be a lot about the details ( C-shaped connector.. so he looses the shoulder pas in battle or does his shoulder "carry" a a secret).. but about what for example his skin ? Is it more soft or somekind of hard and "crusty" (later in the callout it's only... grey.. so i guess "soft").. his hand seems to be only…
Don't make the grass as directional fibers. Rather, I'd go for something like that: PS2 jRPGs are also a great reference for hand-painted, diffuse only foliage. The rest is good for now IMO.
Hi guys, I keep learning about handpainted textures. I thought that to open this post would be a good idea in order to get opinions and feedback that will help me improve my skills. Right now, I'm focused on handpainting but, soon I will start sculpting in Zbrush as well. I will try to keep this updated. This time I made a…
I started this late last year and got lazy after getting another work contract. Recently I've had time to come back and finish this pet project off. The inspiration was obviously was mushrooms and to make an environment around that theme. This is just a flat lit scene in Marmoset. If I find myself with more free time I…
Hey polycounters, I'm sharing a long time portfolio piece idea which just materialized when Sketcfab put on one of their short bi-weekly challenge for low poly stylise busts. Decided to do a take on scorpion which is one of my long time fav characters in the Mortal Kombat universe. I managed to do the modelling and cracked…
Hi, I have been working on some tiling textures based on Halo and World of Warcraft for a course I am on. This will be then moving into a full scene for whichever style I choose. below are my current Renders of the textures from UE4 which were made using 3DS Max, Zbrush, Photoshop and 3D Coat. Any critique and feedback…
