Ok, Im seeing some problems so far with what you have. I think your modeling skills are decent and show promise. As you have said you are basically just starting out in texturing. So I would advise you start a new project to start from square one. Now Im going to link a tutorial by Polycount's very own Millenia. It is an…
Just a general update, over the weekend I started building the final base mesh for all the pieces and am nearly finished with the arm (hardest one) I wasn't happy with my first pass of the fingers so I re-engineered them yesterday. I plan on also using the piece for animation so wanted to make sure everything worked…
With garments like this, something you may also need to consider pretty often is how you are going to apply a pattern -- like embroidery or whatever. Much easier if you keep things aligned in parallel/perpendicular lines. If you are working with Marvelous Designer, check this out…
Beside what others already mentioned here, my thought on working slow on progress is that overcoming the 'too much thinking' behind it, I would say that's half of a battle in itself. Like you mention all the tedious work of UV/ texture bake/ retopo, that's part of the 3d process itself and you know you have to do it, so…
Some progress on this today, still got ways to go for it to be considered consumable haha. The skylight leak on the left really kills the immersion here, does anyone know how to get rid of it? I can’t wait for unreal 5 to really fix this haha. Also Shoutout to Instagram for the post processing filters on this pic
Continuing work today. (Skyrim + holiday = no progress for a few days.) I've started to work on the forearms and hands a bit. Legs and back are next. I'm butting up against my anatomy knowledge, but learning a lot in the process. Eager to get better. Feel free to tell me the work is $#!%. I'm not a wilting lilly!
@NodrawNT very weird indeed. I'm not sure what's in there, is that a sink, or a laundry machine or something like that? here's my progress for today on the grenade, I've just started learning Fusion 360 and decided to practice it more by doing this prop. very slow process. and I'm not quite sure how to tackle the safety…
hi guys. i don't do a lot of environment stuff but figured it would be good to show that i can! i was playing WAR a couple of nights ago, and as usual i was cought offguard by how pretty some of the environments were, and took a screenshot figuring "that would be cool to try to replicate". so here's the screenshot: and…
So this is my study diary. Hello, I apologize for not having a sketchbook. Since I'm not very good at it, it didn't seem like the right thing to do. I've recently started learning about 3D modeling topology. To truly understand it, I've created a personal exercise Inspired by Frank's posts on this forum :) , The idea is to…
Thanks! I was using Xgen for the hair. It is fairly straight forward process, creating guides and tuning the modifiers to get some decent results. It's pretty hard to explane the method only with few sentences, but i might post some work in progress images later on, so you can see what was my approach.
