Well, you're plugging a texture of a relatively flat floor, no wonder that's what Crazybump is spitting out. You could try a couple of different things before sculpting anything such as trying a different texture (duh) or trying nDo2 (much better results than Crazybump, IMHO). Or you could try actually sculpting it, here…
I studied Emotions in game design for my dissertation and part of it was analysing the game artists role in the creation of the game experience. I found textbooks that talk about a few ways in which games designers can be considered artists. “A close consideration of game space reveals a broad range of aesthetic…
Been hunting around and got some much better prices after a tip from a Supermicro adviser. Apart from the monitor, Scan are ftw. *Had to change the motherboard model because it wasn't compatible with the x16 slot required by the new Radeon video card which was weird because it's actually the latest model that can take more…

i'm working on an athlon 64 venice 3200+ (2ghz) 2gb samsung ram(ddr1) (i got an update, 4gb kingston ram, but without antistatic hull, so i got out my car and the chassis shocked me and destroyed the ram) geforce 6800gt winxp32(i have to upgrade to 64bit, but i'm much too lazy) IBM CRT 17" + Sony crt 19" works fine for…
The first issue I see is that the 2600k isn't compatible with the motherboard you picked. The X58 is a LGA 1366 socket, while the 2600 is an LGA 1155 (Sandybridge). While there are 1366 socket i7s, they're a generation before Sandybridge (i7 9xx series CPUs). You want a mobo with either a P67 or Z68 chipset (preferably the…
Can you point to a specific report? I only thing I could find was close is that "90% Of Virtual Worlds Fail Within 18 Months" which is different then 90% of games fail to make money. I found another figure from August showing 30% http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688103/Less_Than_30_Of_Games_Make_Money.html

Some of the boards dont support both of the PCI-E at full speed, (one or both slots work at half the speed when used in SLI). So be sure to check the specs if you choose to go for a SLI. I've also been told some chipsets (680i i believe) have stability issues.
Why are you using CB to pre-visualize your bakes? What's wrong with using max's viewport with a shader or even xnormal? But yes, probably it's the tangent space calculations problem all over again. http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=68173 You should always try and visualize your baked result using the app you…
